Dr. Mark Plunkett

Dr. Mark Plunkett is a board certified M.D. in Thoracic Procedures ABTS and Congenital Defects and Diseases ABTS. He has established himself in the professional field of medicine serving over 25 years of advanced experience. He has held numerous high ranking positions throughout his medical career at prestigious hospitals including the University of Minnesota, Mattel Hospital, Hospital of Illinois OSF Healthcare, and Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Mark Plunkett began his training in 1978. He enrolled at Duke University, where he received his Bachelors of Science in Biology. Dr. Mark Plunkett immediately enrolled at the University of North Carolina, starting his first medical program in the University’s’ School of Medicine. He graduated four years later, obtaining his Doctorate Degree in Medicine. His residency was completed in GS. After moving and joining the team at a different hospital, he completed his fellowship in Cardiology in 1996.

Dr. Mark Plunkett’s academic background is decorated with prestigious awards and nationally recognized residencies and fellowships. After his collegiate schooling, he joined the most nationally recognized hospitals in the country to complete rigorous resident and fellowship programs. Dr. Mark Plunkett makes it a priority to visit national medical conferences, medical labs, and occasional medical courses to brush up on the latest trends in the healthcare industry.

Dr. Mark Plunkett is board certified and continues to expand his knowledge and expertise in various specialized areas. Dr. Plunkett, throughout his medical training and research through fellowships, degrees, and specialties, also held superior titles at various high-ranking institutions, medical centers, and hospitals including  the University of Minnesota, Mattel Hospital, Hospital of Illinois OSF Healthcare, and Duke University Medical Center.
